How does acai berry actually help me lose weight?
Scott C asked:
I’ve been looking into all the offers floating around on the internet as I’d like to lose about 25lbs over a span of about six months with nothing too harsh. I stumbled across what seems like a great article — http://www.top-acai.com/articles/the_truth_about_acai.html — on what acai actually does, but I want to know if anyone else has any insight on the matter.

They give you more energy and clean out your system. Also, I’ve noticed, with me, they make me sweat like a slave.

Hello, Scott. I think it is important to understand something about acai berries – it is just a fruit. Sure, it has a high amount of antioxidants, but a quick trip to the acai page on wikipedia will show you that it is not even the top in that region, either. For the most part, it is a scam in the sense of the companies making money off of false pretenses. Sure, you will hear about people losing weight eating/taking a lot of acai, but let me ask you a serious question.. would the result have been different if it was a lot of a different fruit? Personally, I don’t think so.
If you understand all of this and still want to have some acai, then approach it as any other fruit and enjoy yourself. However, I would stay away from the “free trials” being thrown around. You are almost guaranteed to get burned here, there are a lot of reports of people being charged for extra shipments they didn’t ask for.
I don’t think it is very productive to just shoot down someones question and not add anything constructive however, so I’d like to recommend some reading on a diet called calorie shifting. I have heard good things about it, but I’ll drop a link below and let you decide for yourself.
I hope that whichever path you end up taking that you do lose your unwanted weight, you will surely be a much happier person in the end for it.

I will tell you from my experience of taking Acai Berry for three years. I lecture on health Studies so I am a bit of a skeptic on a lot of nutritional products. I liked the idea and literature on the product so I started taking it .
No one in Ireland knew what I was talking about and I got my product from a US company. With regard to weightloss ..I did not really lose.much . .
I am on medication that puts on weight so I felt that the fact that I had remained fairly stable was good.
I have been taking the product every morning . and as time went on it suddenly hit me that I am never sick .
I lecture in a college and this winter the lecturers are dropping like flies with flue, chest infections etc .Everytime i get a runny nose like I am going to get sick ..it lasts a day and just cannot get going .
In the last three years at college I have had 1 day sick. Everyone complains and I always feel really well and they all ask me ,how come i am never sick.
So as far as the immune boosting effects are I would like to say that it is a fantastic product…and that is based on experience.
